When I started to view the world differently, I became a little worried that something was wrong with me.
You see I started to believe more in the invisible world than the visible one.
But yet the visible world was more real.
The visible world was more accepted by everyone else, and above all, it was more accepted by science. And I love science. I love it.
I wanted to find a place where I could welcome both science and my own experiences. There had to be a place where both could co-exist.
I started reading a lot, anything that I could get my hands on that talked about science and the invisible world.
Anything that proved to me that I was not losing my mind.
We live in a world that talks about a very finite life.
A very finite physical life.
And it ignores everything we can’t see, or we can’t explain.
But what if the more we start to believe in the invisible, unexplainable world we enter a higher level of consciousness. (Click to Tweet!)
What if the people who only believe in this physical level of existence are missing out on evolution and advancement of the soul?
What if we have it all wrong and we are meant to start seeing with a different set of eyes, the type of eyes that don’t need eyesight but belief.
If that is true then what kind of level of consciousness are we talking about.
We are talking about something called cosmic consciousness.
Yes, it even has a name.
According to Richard Maurice Bucke, there are three levels of consciousness.
The first one is Simple consciousness which is the consciousness of animals.
The second one is self-consciousness which is the human kind of consciousness.
This type refers to our imagination, thought processing and our awareness of our bodies and physical presence.
It also includes our ability to create language and build social structures.
But consciousness levels don’t stop here.
They go beyond language, physical presence, thoughts and creation.
Bucke refers to this third level which he has named as Cosmic Consciousness.
This cosmic consciousness is possessed by some humans. Not all.
This cosmic consciousness points towards a universe that is outside of the material world, outside of death and inside a type of infinite that is the only true nature of the universe.
Cosmic consciousness removes facts and replaces them with intuition and deep soul knowing. Bucke believed that any human being can enter this level of consciousness and one day, all humans will.
In his words “Each soul will feel and know itself to be immortal, will feel and know that the entire Universe with all its good and with all its beauty is for it, and belongs to it forever.”
What if one day everyone with a soul is supposed to discover this cosmic nature of their consciousness and align itself with the infinite and invisible world.
And what if the beginning of this journey requires the questioning of self consciousness.
Deepak Chopra said something in an article here that will always stay with me.
“In everyday life, you get to experience the miracle of transformation that causes a three-dimensional spatial world and one-dimensional temporal world to manifest before your very eyes. The great advantage of experience is that it isn’t theoretical. Reality is never wrong, and all of us are embedded in reality, no matter what model we apply to explain it. Reality is waiting for us to creep closer to understanding its mysteries. In the meantime, it won’t falter or come to an end. Reality will remain our home, our source, and the ground state of our being far beyond the lifetime of the foreseeable universe. Within this reality though we are responsible at reminding ourselves that we are not this reality, We are responsible at connecting the dots and seeing beyond this every day life.”
You are meant to understand your own human existence, certainly not wait for others to tell you why you are here and how long you are supposed to stay.
And as for me well, I believe that death is only real in this three-dimensional reality.
That is something I cannot doubt.
But since this reality is just a reflection of our observation then death only exists here.
Outside of it, everything is infinite, eternal and above all always connected to you and I. To us. To one.
I must admit this is always hard for me to take in.
The reality of our everyday life is so insistent.
But I am grateful that I have started to see beyond it, and not only that but I am unafraid to share it with all of you.
Now, that takes more than just a cosmic consciousness, it takes guts in a three-dimensional prison world and that is not easy to get.
I hope you see the humor in this and the duality of it too.
